Sweets

I think I have latent stress. I am not sure if such a condition even exists. Of late, I haven't had the need to vent frustration as often as I used to. I feel that I am being a bit more patient with my colleagues, be it at That Special Occasion or weddingsmalaysia. Basically, there hasn't been that many outward manifestations of stress.

Having said that, I nevertheless feel that I am not 100 per cent. Subconsciously, I suspect there is some worry, some stress-induced fatigue. Good thing is, I am recognising the warning signs; and will deal with them!

Perhaps that explains my sudden craving for sweets, conceivably an antidote for the covert stress that I am experiencing. I had a slice of blueberry pie with vanilla ice cream for dessert during lunch yesterday. And now? I could do with the berries and meringue concoction in the photo ........

Penang Gang

Suan Bee, Beatrice and C Hun of Touching Hearts Wedding Concepts are in town from Penang and I had dinner with them last night. Desmond of Confetti joined us too. Considering the vast amount of time that Desmond spends in Penang, I guess he qualifies to be termed the ‘Penang gang’ as well.

It is always a pleasure getting together with industry friends from interstate. Apart from exchanging news on the respective wedding scenes, it is also refreshing to share new ideas and banter about the goings-on in our lives. Whilst Facebook and email certainly help us keep in touch, they can never measure up to conversing in person.

Good food, sinful desserts and great company, a wonderful Friday night out indeed.

To Reciprocate

To reciprocate is a practice that I hold in high regard. If people treat you well, then treat them well in return. A simple notion, isn’t it? I try to do this, though I don’t always succeed, but by and large, I think I do pretty well, putting others first, albeit only for those who are deserving.

It is on this premise that I made the effort to round up a few friends to celebrate Danny’s birthday over dinner 2 nights ago. The ‘Cesar Ritz’ gang – originally consisting of Danny, Phoebe, Patricia, Faizol and I; now including Sonya, Faizol’s other half – tries to celebrate one another’s birthday every year. We keep it intimate, just the few of us, probably because conversation flows much more freely among friends who share a common bond. The only one missing? Patricia who is now living in Brisbane. Still, we have a good time and include her in our thoughts.

Now, if only every one of our friends, if only everyone that we deal with at work, subscribed to the ideal of reciprocating. It would certainly make our lives so much more rewarding, so much less stressful and our relationships so much more gratifying. So, have you done a good deed for someone deserving lately?
