Cosmic Forces

This weekend must be one of those where the cosmic forces teach me a lesson. An inspiring event, and advice gleaned from a seminar I attended, both seemingly conspired to serve up a great lesson in life. Who would have thought that these two instances, unrelated and positioned at differing ends of a spectrum, would be so impactful, leaving me with much to ponder and think over.

 

The ability to visualise and courage to ask for one's aspiration to be fulfilled is something that I have encouraged myself to do for some time. I was reminded today that for this to be more effective, one has to be more resolute, more focused, and to ask with a greater sense of purpose.

 

Such advice could not have come at a better time. An event which I experienced by association this weekend, has been an inspiration, serving up a large dose of the power of hope and faith. Coupled with the words of wisdom shared at the seminar today, they certainly act as a much needed catalyst to work towards a more fulfilling existence in the future.

Hope And Faith

A friend was lamenting the lack of success in finding love despite having tried very hard. Having seen so many other friends happily coupled, it has been rather disheartening for this friend of mine. More so when it seemed so easy for those who are married or in long term relationships.

Well, I am certainly not qualified to give advice in matters of the heart. So all I could muster was 'it'll happen when it happens'. Not that comforting words I must say. But I definitely do believe in fate and I suppose that response was based on this belief.

I also feel that while trying is important, trying too hard may be counterproductive too. I would think that it is necessary to be aware and sensitive to one's surrounds, and when an opportunity does appear, then act on it. Of course, this is easier said than done most of the time. To my friend, I would just say this, keep the faith. Hope is what keeps us going. And when fate finally does deal its hand, I hope that it will be a card of hearts.

Best Times 2009

2009 is almost up! It's scary how time flies. I'll be having a quiet New Year's Eve, spending time with family at home after having gone for a massage earlier this morning and then a swim under the blazing hot sun at noon ... need to maintain 'em tan lines.

My across-the-miles shrink paid a whirlwind visit to KL the past few days and we had a tete-a-tete yesterday. The outcome? My new motto for the new year ... life is short, go for it! I also thought I'd share my 3 best moments in 2009 ... fave of all, spending time with friends leading up to and during Eileen and Richard's Bali wedding in August; 20-year partial reunion with uni friends in Kota Kinabalu, also in August; putting my new motto into action yesterday.
